Stiftelsen Regine Normann is a Norwegian foundation dedicated to sharing the life and literary legacy of Regine Normann (1867–1939), the first writer from Nordland to become widely known across Norway. Born and raised in Bø in Vesterålen, Normann later moved to the capital and established herself as a celebrated storyteller. She left 18 books, including socially critical and historical novels, short stories, legends and fairy tales, many distinguished by their northern Norwegian character.
The foundation introduces visitors to Normann’s biography, writing and historical significance through its website and public activities. Its offerings include information about her books, a lecture tour and digital reading circles, giving audiences opportunities to explore her work together. The foundation also marks literary anniversaries with events and activities across Norway, including in Bø, Normann’s birthplace. In 2025, it is celebrating the centenary of her first fairy-tale collection, published in 1925, with a year of programming intended to encourage reading enjoyment. Through these initiatives, Stiftelsen Regine Normann connects new audiences with a distinctive voice in Norwegian literature.
