Customers enter by scanning a QR code with an app, then select and pay for products themselves using a touchscreen checkout, certified scales and a hand scanner. Payment is cashless, with receipts sent by email.

The company offers two ways to set up a store. With its rental system, operators use farmely’s access-control technology, self-checkout, store app, website and inventory-management tools under their own brand. The package starts at €500 per month and includes updates and technical support. Alternatively, franchise partners use the farmely brand and established store concept, with guidance on location and setup and ongoing development support. The franchise fee is 3% of sales, subject to a monthly minimum of €350 and maximum of €1,500. Store fit-out is a separate one-time cost, quoted individually.
