ZA Registry Consortium (Pty) Ltd (ZARC) is the official Registry Operator for the commercial. za second-level domains (SLDs) including co. za, net.
za, org. za, and web. za.
As of October 1, 2022, ZARC took over the administration of these domain names and their Accredited Registrars. During the transition, ZARC ensured a secure and seamless process, migrating all four SLDs to a single shared registry system (SRS). This consolidation resulted in one new EPP endpoint for all SLDs, streamlining operations.
Along with the registry transition, the registrar portal, billing and payment systems, and terms and conditions were also updated. Although some registrars faced minor connection issues, ZARC provided a troubleshooting guide and technical support to ensure a smooth experience for users. With over 97% of Accredited Registrars prepared for this upgrade, ZARC has successfully completed the SRS Transition.
