Reims Aïkido

Reims Aïkido is a non-profit association based in Reims, France, offering instruction in the Japanese martial art of aikido. Affiliated with the French Federation of Aikido and Budo (FFAB), the club introduces newcomers to aikido’s history, values, techniques, etiquette and traditions. Its approach emphasizes self-mastery, mutual progress and well-being rather than competition. Aikido is presented as a defensive practice: partners take turns in controlled attacks and responses, learning to move with and redirect force while respecting one another’s physical integrity.

Training includes empty-hand techniques as well as traditional weapons practice with the wooden sword and staff, and defenses against knife attacks. The club holds three classes each week across two venues: Monday evenings at Dojo Saint-Exupéry, and Wednesday and Friday evenings at the university hall. Several instructors with federal qualifications, alongside experienced practitioners, guide and assist students. The website provides practical information on schedules, fees, registration, equipment and grades, plus documents for members.
