The Association Québécoise de Reining (AQR) is a Quebec-based organization dedicated to promoting reining and providing opportunities for riders to practise and compete in the discipline. Founded in 1984, it describes itself as a leading reference for reining competition in Quebec and is supported by a passionate team, members, and sponsors. The AQR organizes multiple competitions each year in a friendly, sporting atmosphere, including national-level events affiliated with the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). Reining showcases a horse’s ranch-work skills through judged patterns featuring circles, lead changes, spins, backing, rollbacks, and sliding stops.

The association offers membership options for adults, youth, professionals, and lifetime members, with 2026 fees listed on its website. Members can access competition information, current-season results, association and event regulations, and guidance on registration. The AQR also shares member announcements and information about its team, partners, breeding programs, and stallion-service auction. Riders interested in joining or entering a competition can find forms and contact the association through its website.
