REIN Rescue

REIN Rescue, short for Rescuing Equines In Need, is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The organization rescues Mustangs and other feral equines, then guides each horse through individualized care, evaluation, rehabilitation, trust-based training, and responsible adoption. Its approach emphasizes understanding each horse’s needs, building confidence, and matching adoption-ready horses with qualified homes prepared to provide lasting care and security.

Beyond rescue and adoption, REIN works to change perceptions of Mustangs by demonstrating their intelligence, athleticism, versatility, and potential as valued partners. Its work includes equine care and training, education, advocacy, and community engagement. Supporters can contribute through one-time or monthly donations, horse sponsorships, funding specific needs, legacy partnerships, and donations of supplies, equipment, or services. They can also help by making connections, sharing stories, organizing fundraisers, or adopting a horse. Contributions support shelter, feed, veterinary and farrier services, rehabilitation, training, and placement. Through these efforts, REIN aims to create safe, purposeful futures for horses and make room to help more equines in need.
