Action Relief

Relief Action Initiative (RAI) is a women-led humanitarian non-governmental organization working in fragile, conflict- and disaster-affected settings, with a presence across Sudan. It responds to urgent needs while protecting people at greatest risk, especially women and children, and supporting communities to recover and build resilience. Guided by humanity, neutrality, impartiality, independence, accountability and transparency, RAI works alongside affected communities, local volunteers and community initiatives, prioritizing dignity, rights and locally led action.

Its integrated programs include emergency response and relief distributions; protection services, safe referral pathways and efforts to reduce gender-based violence risks; food security and livelihoods support; safe water, sanitation and hygiene; and education in emergencies through safe learning spaces, volunteer teachers, accelerated learning and psychosocial support. RAI also provides essential health services, including maternal and child health care, nutrition screening and response, and strengthens local organizations and volunteer networks. Its mine action work includes clearance, risk education, survivor assistance and advocacy. RAI welcomes partnerships, volunteers and donations to extend humanitarian assistance, protection, education and sustainable recovery.
