The Remembering Jamie Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Somers Point, New Jersey, established by Jim and Margaret Crescenzo in memory of their daughter, Jamie. Its work reflects the values Jamie held dear: family, friendship, community and education. The foundation supports local students, encourages community service and promotes safer driving, particularly awareness of hazardous weather conditions.
It provides annual $1,000 scholarships to students at Atlantic Cape Community College (ACCC), Richard Stockton University and Egg Harbor Township High School graduates. The organization also contributes to local groups, including the Police Athletic League and Covenant House, and participates in Atlantic Countyโs Adopt-a-Road program.
To fund its programs, the foundation hosts an Italian dinner each February and a golf tournament in late September or early October. These community events bring together supporters, sponsors and participants. Its driving education work includes collaborating with area high schools on teen driver-awareness programs and producing public service announcements for radio, television and the web.
