Rentablo is a German fund-discount provider that helps investors reduce the costs of holding investment funds. Founded in 2014, it combines discounts of up to 100% on fund sales charges with cashback from ongoing fund commissions. Eligible cashback is calculated quarterly and can also apply to fund units already held in a customer’s portfolio. The amount depends on the selected funds and partner bank; Rentablo reports that more than €12 million in cashback has been paid out.

Customers use a securities account with one of Rentablo’s partner banks, while their assets remain held by that bank. Rentablo says it cannot access customers’ fund units or place orders on their behalf. The service also provides detailed quarterly commission statements, an automated tax assistant, and a free portfolio-management app for viewing accounts, analysing investments, and reviewing risk and goals. The app supports one-click account and portfolio imports. Rentablo presents its offer as a way to improve transparency and potentially enhance fund-investment returns by lowering costs and returning eligible commissions to investors.
