About RE Olds Museum
The R. E. Olds Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting Lansing's rich automotive heritage and its lasting impact on the mid-Michigan community and the American automotive industry.
Established in 1977, this nonprofit organization houses an extensive collection of automobiles, engines, and other automotive materials that showcase the transportation history of the region. Step into the past as you explore thousands of irreplaceable items in their archives, including over 65 rotating vehicles ranging from 1886 through 2003. Delve deeper into history at the James D.
Butt Archives, which contains a vast collection of ephemera such as photographs, manuals, and newsletters. As a resource within the Lansing Stewardship Community of Motor-Cities-National Heritage Area, this museum is an affiliate of the National Parks Service. The operations of the museum are funded primarily through the support of members and donors.
