RepaRad e.V. is a Dresden-based bicycle self-help organisation that makes cycling more accessible through three community workshops and a mobile repair service. Its professionally equipped workshops welcome people of all backgrounds, ages, genders, budgets and bicycle types. Members and visitors can work on their own bikes with guidance, use a broad selection of tools and find used replacement parts and common wear components. Repair stations at selected locations also help with quick fixes, such as inflating tyres or tightening loose bolts.
Beyond open workshop hours, RepaRad offers one-to-one repair support, cycling lessons for women and for all learners, courses, workshops and mobile activities. Its SCREW project brings bicycle repair education to places where it is needed, while initiatives such as “Every Home a Cargo Bike” encourage practical cycling solutions. The organisation also provides material hire and activities focused on inclusion and participation.
RepaRad promotes repairing rather than replacing, sharing skills and extending the life of bicycles and other resources.
