REPCET® is an innovative system designed to mitigate the risks of collisions between large cetaceans and commercial vessels, thereby championing marine conservation and passenger safety. Developed through a decade of collaboration among maritime companies, environmental stakeholders, and engineers, REPCET® represents the first real-time whale tracking software deployed on ships to address a critical environmental issue. With up to 20% of dead whales found in the North Western Mediterranean having died from ship strikes, safeguarding these majestic creatures has become imperative.

The REPCET® platform enables users to report, share, and receive live updates on whale positions within a dedicated community, enhancing situational awareness during maritime operations. Currently, 39 vessels and five terrestrial institutions are equipped with this cutting-edge system. In addition to technology, REPCET® provides training programs to educate maritime personnel about whale recognition and collision prevention, driving awareness throughout the industry.
