About The Rescue House
The Rescue House is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that is dedicated to assisting cats through rescue, foster, and adoption activities. They are committed to finding loving homes for unwanted, abandoned, homeless, and abused cats, regardless of age or handicap. As a true no-kill cat rescue organization, they have rescued over 18,000 cats since their establishment in 1999.
The Rescue House operates six adoption centers in San Diego County, located in pet stores and businesses that share their philosophy. They have a diverse selection of cats available for adoption, ranging in colors, shapes, sizes, and ages. Each cat receives comprehensive medical care, including examinations, testing for feline leukemia, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, micro-chipping, deworming, and flea treatment.
Their adoption fee also covers the microchip registration. Additionally, cats nine years and older have a full blood chemistry done and receive dental treatment if needed. The Rescue House encourages individuals to visit their adoption centers and explore their website to discover the heartwarming stories and pictures of the special cats ready for adoption.
Volunteers play an essential role in The Rescue House, providing foster care, visiting adoption centers, transporting cats, and undertaking crucial tasks to maximize the organization's impact. They currently have over 300 active volunteers and 40 active foster homes. The Rescue House relies solely on generous donations to fund their operations.
With no physical structure or overhead, the majority of all donations directly support the love and care of their cats. The organization's mission is to eliminate the need for their services through education and an aggressive spay/neuter program, promoting responsible pet ownership. However, until there are no more homeless cats, The Rescue House remains committed to saving as many cat lives as possible.
To fulfill their mission and save more lives, they rely on the support and contributions of the community. Volunteers and donations are greatly appreciated. Join The Rescue House in their mission to assist and provide loving homes for cats in need.
Together, we can make a difference and give these special cats the care and love they deserve
