Residência Segura is a private elder-care residence in Fajã de Cima, Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel Island in the Azores. Established as the first privately initiated care home to operate on the island, it welcomes older adults, whether dependent or independent, and supports their integration, wellbeing and continued personal development. Its approach aims to provide a family-like, respectful environment that encourages residents to maintain their physical and mental abilities, independence and autonomy.
The residence offers accommodation in single and double rooms, along with carefully planned meals and a varied programme of sociocultural activities. Residents can also take part in adapted exercise and motor activities in the on-site gym. Medical care is available around the clock, supported by doctors, nurses and care assistants. Facilities include a nursing area, technical offices, communal lounge, kitchen, dining room, laundry, chapel and multipurpose spaces. The building is designed for comfort and quality, with spacious, bright, climate-controlled areas and specialised equipment for a range of treatments.
