About RESPOND
RESPOND is a brand that aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the governance of recent mass migration in Europe and beyond. As the first project to be granted within the Humanities at Uppsala University, RESPOND is set to study the multilevel governance of migration in 11 countries. With a consortium of 14 partners from source, transit, and destination countries, this project is coordinated by Uppsala University and will run from December 2017 to November 2020.
RESPOND focuses on enhancing the migration governance capacity and policy coherence of the EU, its member states, and third countries through cross-country comparative research. Their research is divided into five thematic fields: border management and security, refugee protection regimes, reception policies, integration policies, and conflicting Europeanization. By analyzing the interactions and responses of actors involved, including refugees themselves, RESPOND aims to provide a holistic view of migration governance and contribute to the development of efficient and effective policies in this domain
