Restaurant IKI

Restaurant IKI is a Japanese dining experience in Angers, France, led by chef Michaël Pankar. Centered on the traditional sushi counter, the restaurant invites guests to watch the chef prepare Japanese specialties with care and precision, then enjoy them in a calm, intimate setting. Its name reflects an aesthetic of understated refinement, sincerity and quiet elegance, which informs the restaurant’s approach to food and hospitality.

At lunchtime, IKI serves Moriawase, a carefully selected assortment inspired by a daily menu, with a balanced creative touch. In the evening, guests can book Omakase, a unique menu shaped by the chef’s inspiration and designed to introduce subtle tastes and new flavours. Pankar’s creations bring together Japanese culinary traditions and his multicultural influences, using carefully chosen ingredients prepared artisanally in small quantities.

The restaurant currently operates with the chef working alone, so opening days and seating are limited and advance reservations are recommended. IKI cannot offer vegetarian, vegan or children’s menus, but asks guests to mention allergies when booking and will do its best to accommodate them.
