Rethink München

Re:think München is an initiative of the City of Munich that helps residents, businesses, associations and the municipal administration take part in the city’s transition to climate neutrality. The city aims to become climate-neutral by 2035, with its administration reaching that goal by 2030. The initiative shares information, practical guidance and opportunities for people to contribute to a sustainable, resilient and liveable Munich.

Its resources cover climate-conscious living, energy use at home, sustainable food and consumption, low-carbon mobility, building and renovation, and neighbourhoods. Residents can explore advice and services, online checks, funding information, local sustainable offers and events. The Klima-Taler programme rewards sustainable behaviour with tokens that can be used to access benefits. Re:think München also highlights the city’s circular-economy work and the Haus der Kost, a training and education centre promoting sustainability in professional cooking. Through its website, newsletter and community activities, the initiative offers ways to learn, get involved and support climate action, while connecting environmental goals with cleaner air, less noise and improved quality of life.
