About Retro Africa
Retro Africa is a contemporary art gallery and platform located in Abuja, Nigeria. Led by founder and artistic director Dolly Kola-Balogun, Retro Africa has been fostering a vibrant community of artists, enthusiasts, curators, and collectors since 2015. By organizing curated exhibitions, art fairs, intercultural dialogues, and online media, Retro Africa provides a platform for both emerging and established artists.
Through their efforts, they aim to raise awareness and encourage growth and learning within the African art scene. Visitors are welcomed to the gallery from Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 9pm, with free entry. The space is elegantly curated and has been described as an inspiring and much-needed breath of fresh air for the cultural scene in Abuja.
Retro Africa's team consists of dedicated professionals, including the gallery manager, marketing executive, inter-gallery partner, communications/media personnel, and of course, Dolly Kola-Balogun as the founder and creative director.
