The Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik (KWF) is a German organization based in Groß-Umstadt that supports the forestry sector through research, information, practical guidance, and services. Its work spans forestry technology, forest operations, safety, and the sharing of knowledge among forest owners, public authorities, emergency services, and technology providers.

A key initiative is the KWF forest rescue-points project. The KWF collects location data voluntarily supplied by forest owners and makes it centrally available to help people identify meeting points near forests and communicate their location to emergency responders. Rescue-point data can be downloaded in Shape, KML, and GPX formats, accessed through a web map service, or viewed in the KWF geoportal. The organization also offers guidance for establishing rescue points, including a practical brochure for forest owners.

Other KWF resources include research projects, forestry information publications, technical assessment resources, tools, event programming, and information on forestry safety and standards. Through these offerings, the KWF helps improve access to reliable forestry data and supports practical coordination across the sector.
