The Rettungszweckverband Südwestsachsen is a public-law association responsible for ground-based emergency medical services and the Integrated Regional Control Centre Zwickau. Founded in 2012 and based in Plauen, it serves the Vogtlandkreis and Landkreis Zwickau in southwestern Saxony, operating around the clock to coordinate emergency response across both districts.

Its services include emergency rescue by ambulance and emergency physician, patient transport, and the reception and dispatch of emergency calls through the Zwickau control centre. The association also supports a network of qualified volunteer first responders, helping provide care while emergency crews are on their way. For larger events, it offers medical cover and guidance on event registration. Its responsibilities further include flood preparedness, public warnings and disaster response, as well as the connection, operation and testing of fire alarm systems linked to the regional control centre.

The association shares public safety information, emergency preparedness guidance, current alerts and service updates. It also provides contact details, publications and information about its operations.
