Revere Robotics is developing Curbie, an autonomous residential utility platform designed to automate the weekly trip of household trash and recycling carts. Rather than requiring proprietary smart bins or changes to municipal collection systems, Curbie couples to standard two-wheel roll-out carts and uses their existing wheels to travel between the home and curb. The company’s engineering approach centers on a compact outdoor robot with dual brushless motors, a mechanical axle-lock latch, a lithium battery, and onboard computing.
Its sensors support obstacle detection, driveway navigation, and curb docking, while safety features include governed walking-speed movement and automatic braking. Curbie is designed to handle multiple carts sequentially, following separate collection schedules for trash, recycling, and other waste. The planned cycle includes scheduled departure, curbside staging, automatic release when the collection truck lifts the bin, and a return home.
Revere Robotics describes Curbie as an engineering prototype in active development, with field testing underway and early-access requests available
