REvivED water is a pioneering research initiative funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 program, focusing on sustainable solutions for global drinking water challenges. As the demand for potable water escalates due to climate change and droughts, REvivED water aims to revolutionize seawater desalination through innovative electrodialysis (ED) technology. By collaborating with ten partners from six European countries, the project seeks to establish ED as a standard method for low-energy desalination, ensuring high-quality drinking water is accessible to a growing population.
The project’s commitment is evident in its numerous accolades, including the Smart Energy Award for its remote desalination contributions. REvivED water has also held events and webinars to foster knowledge-sharing and community engagement around energy-efficient desalination technologies. This initiative not only addresses immediate water scarcity concerns but also lays the groundwork for future advancements in sustainable water management, making strides towards a resilient and water-secure future for all.
