About Revive Our Gulf
Revive Our Gulf is a brand dedicated to the restoration of the lost mussel reefs of the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana / Te Moananui ā-Toi. Working in partnership with iwi, hapū, and the community, The Mussel Reef Restoration Trust aims to bring back the once-dominant mussel reefs that played a crucial role in improving the mauri, or life-force, of the Gulf. Mussel reefs stabilize the seafloor, support marine life, and help clean the water, making their restoration vital for the ecosystem.
Revive Our Gulf focuses on building knowledge and creating conditions for large-scale restoration.
