RGZV Otterndorf

Rassegeflügelzuchtverein Otterndorf von 1884 is a local club dedicated to the breeding, exhibition and appreciation of poultry breeds. Based in Otterndorf, the association brings together breeders, young people and other poultry enthusiasts to share knowledge, support responsible breeding and enjoy a welcoming community. Its activities include meetings, educational exchanges and public events where visitors can learn about the birds and the club’s work.

The association takes part in local occasions such as Otterndorf’s farmers’ market, presenting information and a selection of poultry, and hosts shows, including regional and state-level exhibitions. It also provides practical resources for exhibitors, such as entry forms and show regulations, and shares information about Newcastle disease and required vaccination dates. Members can order official poultry rings through a club contact.

A youth group is an important part of the club, with social activities, creative afternoons, games, bowling, outings and camping events. Alongside its focus on poultry keeping, the club cultivates fellowship through shared excursions and community celebrations, welcoming people interested in learning about or participating in regional poultry breeding
