Rhee TaeKwonDo

Rhee Tae Kwon-Do Tasmania offers traditional Korean martial arts classes focused on fitness, self-defence and personal development. Its family-friendly sessions are designed for people of different ages and experience levels, with no prior training required and free first-time lessons available. Classes are energetic, inclusive and non-contact, helping students build cardio fitness, flexibility and functional strength while developing confidence and a strong mind.

Training covers unarmed striking techniques, including punches, kicks, blocks and combinations. Students practise controlling their techniques during sparring and practical application drills, and learn that self-defence begins with situational awareness. The emphasis is on making the art accessible to anyone interested in learning to defend themselves.

The Tasmania program includes dojangs in Ulverstone and Yolla. Ulverstone classes, led by Deputy Regional Master James Grogan, take place at the Ulverstone Rowing Club, with outdoor training in summer. Yolla sessions are held at the Yolla District School Gym and led by Regional Instructor Jamie Williams. Both locations offer regular weekly classes, and families can ask about available discounts.
