The Richmond Hill Historical Society (RHHS) is a volunteer-run, non-profit community organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Richmond Hill, Ontario. Founded in 1973 and affiliated with the Ontario Historical Society, RHHS works to keep local heritage visible and meaningful for present and future generations. Its activities include monthly meetings featuring presentations and discussions about the area’s history, as well as participation in community events such as Doors Open, the Richmond Hill Cultural Summit and Culture Days.
The Society also promotes existing historical publications and produces books, articles and newsletters that highlight local places, events and people. Through its publications, blog, heritage resources, awards and public programs, RHHS offers residents opportunities to explore the community’s past and connect with its heritage. Membership is available, and the Society shares information about meetings, events and ways to get involved.
