Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) is a renowned biomedical research and service delivery organization founded in 1987, previously known as the Rakai Project. RHSP aims to conduct innovative and relevant health research in infectious and non-communicable diseases, reproductive health, and communicable diseases. They also provide a wide range of health-related services to improve public health and inform policy.

With a mission to excel in health research, disease prevention, and care, RHSP focuses on conducting studies such as the Rakai Community Cohort Study (RCCS), which is an open population-based cohort that enrolls consenting adult residents. Their research includes laboratory studies, clinical studies, immunological studies, and social and behavioral studies. RHSP also offers comprehensive HIV care and treatment programs, district-led programming, counseling, health education, and other prevention strategies like voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) and prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT).
