Ribbons and Bows

Ribbons and Bows Stables is a family-friendly, child-centered horseback riding and agricultural education program serving the Hershey and Hummelstown area of Pennsylvania. Located at 55 Orchard Road in Hummelstown, the stable helps children and their families learn about horses, stable care, animal communication, and agriculture in an engaging environment. Its offerings include a Riding Lessons Program and an Agricultural Education Program, with learning paced to suit each child’s skills and experience.

The stable emphasizes more than riding technique: its approach aims to nurture life skills, character, perseverance, and social-emotional development while making learning enjoyable. Children can build practical horsepersonship skills and take part in hands-on barn learning, including grooming and preparing a horse for riding. Ribbons and Bows draws on approximately 35 years of accumulated knowledge, research, and practical experience in horsepersonship, agriculture, and child development. The stable was established in 2009, and its Children’s Riding Program formally began in 2018. Its welcoming, informal atmosphere supports children as they grow in confidence and learn alongside their families and peers.
