Ricardo Fuentes is a renowned brand in the seafood industry that has recently achieved a significant milestone. They have incorporated a new ultrafreezing ship with a remarkable capacity to process 1,300 tons of red tuna. This state-of-the-art vessel, named Princesa Guayarmina, is the third of its kind and signifies a major step in solidifying their leadership in the sector.

The innovative ship, constructed in Japan, is equipped with advanced technology to store the tuna at an astonishing -60ºC. With a length of 84 meters and a width of 12. 4 meters, the vessel boasts impressive capabilities, including a maximum daily freezing capacity of 60 tons.

It features 10 rapid freezing cabinets and 12 cold compressors. This ship allows Ricardo Fuentes to process and store the tuna directly at sea without having to rely on land facilities. The crew of 40 personnel carefully handles and freezes the freshly caught tuna within a few hours of extraction, ensuring that its properties remain intact.

The vessel's storage holds over 1,300 tons of frozen tuna. Ricardo Fuentes takes pride in adhering to stringent quality standards, and all processes aboard the ship are validated by international inspectors. Their commitment to excellence has earned them an esteemed reputation in the industry.

To celebrate this achievement, Ricardo Fuentes organized a special event at Puerto de Santa Lucía in Cartagena, where they showcased the Princesa Guayarmina. The ship will embark on its maiden voyage to the Netherlands to load 1,300 tons of frozen herring, serving as feed for their red tuna in El Gorguel and San Pedro del Pinatar. The ship will then travel to different locations, such as Morocco, Malta, Tunisia, and Spain, to carry out its processing and freezing operations.
