Ridge Meadows Racers

Ridge Meadows Racers is a community speed skating club serving skaters in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. The club welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels, from toddlers taking their first strides to competitive athletes working toward high performance. Its goal is to build speed, skill, and excellence in a supportive community.

Training is led by experienced coaches, including performance coach and Olympic silver medalist Eden Donatelli-Green and technical director Julian Green, an elite Olympic coach. Programs include Learn to Skate for beginners, Elite Performance for competitive skaters, and the Masters Circuit for adult athletes seeking recreational improvement or event preparation. Dryland drills develop skating posture, core stability, agility, explosive power, and aerobic capacity away from the rink.

Newcomers can try two free sessions, with skates and training provided. The club also shares training sessions for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skaters at Planet Ice Maple Ridge. Through fundraising with the BC Amateur Sport Fund, it helps support equipment, travel, ice rental, and coaching costs, helping keep the sport accessible.
