Riding For Dreams Adaptive Riding

Riding For Dreams is an adaptive and therapeutic riding program based in Lisbon, North Dakota. Founded in 2009 by three women committed to improving the lives of students with disabilities, the organization connects children and adults with the healing spirit of horses. It offers tailored riding experiences designed to support participants’ physical, emotional, and cognitive needs, while helping them develop their potential and fostering caring communities.

The program relies on horses as essential partners in its work and provides them with attentive care from staff, veterinarians, and trained volunteers. Through its Sponsor a Horse program, supporters can help cover each horse’s annual care costs, including hay, supplements, veterinary services, and farrier care. Riding For Dreams also welcomes volunteers and accepts donations to help fund participant services, staff support, horse care, and scholarships for people facing financial barriers. Its work is guided by teamwork, integrity, respect, empathy, and joyfulness, with a commitment to making adaptive riding accessible to the community.
