Resources for Infant Educarers

Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of infants and toddlers through respectful, responsive care. Founded by Magda Gerber, RIE promotes its Educaring approach, which views babies as active participants in their care and capable of learning through self-initiated exploration. The approach emphasizes secure relationships, attentive caregiving routines, safe environments, and observing each child’s individuality.

RIE supports parents, caregivers, and early childhood professionals with classes, courses, guidance, and practical resources. Offerings for families include the Before Baby course for expecting parents, Parent-Infant Guidance classes, and online parent groups. Professional programs include Introduction to Educaring, Nurturing Nanny, and the comprehensive RIE Foundations course, with resources for childcare settings and organizations. RIE also connects people with RIE Associates and provides articles, events, and educational materials about infant and toddler development.
