Rīgai 825 is a city-themed project celebrating Riga through its signature pastry, the “Vecrīga” cake. It invites residents and visitors to discover this festive treat at bakeries and cafés around the city, turning a sweet snack into a way to explore local food spots. The website brings together a map of 47 participating locations, with venue names, neighbourhood or street details, and customer ratings where available.

Visitors can use the map and compass to find nearby destinations, while a “cake passport” offers another part of the discovery experience. A story section introduces the idea behind Riga’s “sweetest secret,” and the site is available in Latvian and English. Listed stops include independent cafés, bakeries, and branches of familiar businesses such as Konditoreja Sala, Beķereja Bazaar, Rocket Bean, and Raunas Dārzs.

Rather than presenting a single bakery or product range, Rīgai 825 connects people with participating local venues and encourages them to seek out the “Vecrīga” cake as part of the city’s celebration
