About Rigsrevisionen
Rigsrevisionen is an independent institution under the Danish Parliament, providing parliamentary control in Denmark. Their main role is to audit the state accounts and the accounts of publicly funded businesses to ensure the legal and efficient use of public funds. With a unique position in Danish society, Rigsrevisionen has unrestricted access to all public information and data to carry out their tasks.
They collaborate closely with the Statsrevisorerne (State Auditors), who assess the criticality of their reports. The collaboration involves periodic meetings where Rigsrevisionen presents their findings, and Statsrevisorerne add their comments to the reports. Rigsrevisionen also works alongside approved auditors in the public sector, ensuring that the audits meet both Danish and international standards for public auditing.
