About RIMEAorg
RIMEA is the Rhode Island Music Education Association, founded in 1915 as a state organization of the NAfME (National Association for Music Education). As a non-profit organization, RIMEA actively represents all aspects of music education in Rhode Island's schools, colleges, and universities. RIMEA offers a range of services and resources to its members.
These include professional development opportunities, advocating for arts education through the NAfME GRASSROOTS ACTION CENTER, and providing general music teacher resources and student resources. The association organizes various festivals, including the All-State Solo & Ensemble, Large Ensemble Festivals, and Invitational Honors Festival. RIMEA also has a vibrant community network, with a forum, job center, E-mail list, and resources to find accompanists and private teachers.
In addition, RIMEA publishes the RIMER Journal, which is available online, and provides a membership directory. The association also works towards making music education more accessible for all students in Rhode Island through the ALL-IN-MUSIC FUND.
