The Ringwood Educational Foundation (REF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving the Ringwood School District in Ringwood, New Jersey. Established in 1993, it works with the community to enhance and enrich the educational experience of local students and help prepare schools for the future. REF raises funds to supplement the existing curriculum through grants requested by teachers.
Its grants support classroom projects across a range of subjects, including the arts, writing, reading, physical education, and STEM. The foundation is guided by a volunteer Board of Trustees, who contribute their time to fundraising and the organization’s work. REF also brings the community together through fundraising and engagement events, including its annual Tricky Tray, a family 5K walk and run at Shepard Lake, and Dueling Pianos.
Donations and community participation help the foundation support educational projects throughout the school system. Based in Ringwood, REF shares information about its grants, events, trustees, and ways to get involved through its website and Facebook page
