RioAbrace

Associação RioAbrace is a Rio de Janeiro association dedicated to supporting people with cancer and their families, especially those facing social vulnerability. Its work centers on compassionate care, practical assistance, information, and dignity throughout treatment. The association reports more than 17 years of dedication and has welcomed over 200 families, providing its services free of charge to eligible families.

RioAbrace offers social and psychological support to help patients and relatives cope with diagnosis and treatment. Its nutrition and well-being initiatives include food baskets, supplements, and nutritional guidance for people undergoing chemotherapy. The association also provides physiotherapy to help restore function and independence, including support for treatment-related pain and lymphedema. Through legal guidance, it helps patients understand and defend their rights to access medication and social security benefits.

In addition to direct assistance, RioAbrace shares personal stories and information to encourage awareness and prevention. The organization invites the public to contribute through donations, volunteering, or partnerships, helping sustain its services for patients and families in need.
