Rio Combat Team Utah, known as Shark Tank, is a martial arts academy in Saratoga Springs, Utah, built around discipline, competition, and a supportive team culture. Led by Coach James and guided by Diogo Gomes, Rio Combat Team’s owner and a fourth-degree black belt, the academy offers training for children ages four and up, teens, and adults. Programs include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Gi and No-Gi formats, Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts for adults.
The coaching team brings more than 47 years of combined experience across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA. Classes are led by coaches with active professional fighting experience and welcome complete beginners as well as competitors. Training can help students develop fitness, confidence, discipline, practical self-defense skills, and competition readiness. The academy also highlights how children’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can encourage self-control, teamwork, and constructive conflict resolution. Rio Combat Team presents itself as a welcoming place for students pursuing personal growth or martial arts goals, and offers a free one-day trial class.
