Riot is a brand that offers a free, efficient image optimization tool designed specifically for web use. This program was created by Lucian SABO, a software architect from Romania, who was fascinated by the topic of image optimization and the overall concept of optimization. Back in 2003, when standalone tools like this were scarce, Lucian decided to integrate his image optimizer into the popular image viewer IrfanView, which was fast, efficient, and widely used.
The result was RIOT, a lightweight plugin with stripped-down functionality. To cater to users who don't use IrfanView, Lucian also developed an extended version of the plugin and a standalone application. As the popularity of the tool grew, it was integrated into other programs like XNView, GIMP, and Paint.
NET. With RIOT, users can easily optimize their images for the web, ensuring faster loading times and optimal space utilization
