Ripon Sailing Club is a family-friendly sailing club in North Yorkshire, welcoming everyone from experienced racers to complete beginners. Recognised as a British Youth Sailing club, it has a strong focus on developing junior and youth sailors, alongside activities for members of all ages and abilities. Members can access the club’s facilities 24 hours a day, year-round, and take part in a full programme of on-the-water and social activities.
The club offers dinghy and powerboat training through its RYA-recognised training centre. Courses are led by qualified RYA instructors, run mainly during the summer season and are open to members. Prospective members can arrange a taster sail in advance. Sailing opportunities include regular racing on Wednesday afternoons and evenings in summer, Sunday racing throughout the year, and events for a range of fleets. The programme also includes youth activities, coaching, open meetings and radio-controlled yacht racing. Based near Knaresborough, Ripon Sailing Club combines instruction, competition and community activities for people looking to learn, improve their skills or enjoy sailing.
