Rise Aero Academy

Rise Aero Academy is a flight school based at Rogue Valley International Medford Airport in Medford, Oregon. The academy helps aspiring pilots build practical flying skills and work toward aviation goals through flight instruction, aircraft rental, and simulator training. Its training fleet includes a Cessna 150L, selected for its rugged airframe and low operating cost, and a Redbird TD2 simulator, an FAA-approved Basic Aviation Training Device. Simulator time may count toward eligible private pilot and instrument rating requirements, and can also be used to maintain instrument currency.

The academy offers private pilot training, ground instruction, biennial flight reviews, aircraft rental, and an introductory instrument course. Discovery flights are available with a certified flight instructor for those curious about flying. Training at KMFR gives students experience communicating in tower-controlled Class D airspace, while nearby airports provide opportunities to practice at non-towered fields. Instructor Charles Plunkett is a certified flight and instrument instructor with more than 1,000 hours of instruction experience and over 4,500 total flight hours.
