About RIST
The Romanian Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, independent research institute. RIST aims to provide a better work environment for scientists in Romania, serving as an alternative to public research institutions. RIST scientists are funded through grants provided by the government, European funds, or private donors.
There are no permanent positions, ensuring a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere. In addition to their research efforts, RIST actively participates in various initiatives. They were a main partner of the Transylvanian Machine Learning Summer School and operate the Research for Industry technology transfer platform.
From 2012 to 2017, RIST organized the Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School. Founded in 2009, RIST expanded from the Center for Cognitive and Neural Studies (Coneural). The institute is registered in the National Register of Associations and Foundations and authorized to perform publicly funded research and development activities.
