About Riverbend
Riverbend is a nonprofit organization serving individuals and families in Greater Lowell and the Merrimack Valley. Formerly known as Lowell House, it has provided accessible, affordable addiction services and related support since 1971. Its mission is to empower people to pursue recovery through an integrated continuum of care, with compassionate, person-centered support for different needs and stages of recovery.
Riverbend offers outpatient clinical treatment, evaluations, day programs, adolescent services, case management, education, and clinical support groups. Residential programs include 24-hour staffed treatment facilities, re-entry housing, and sober living homes. The organization also provides crisis stabilization, community outreach, and harm-prevention efforts addressing the effects of substance use and opioid use in the community.
Peer recovery services draw on lived experience to support people on their recovery journeys. These include recovery coaching, Recovery Coach Academy, and Recovery Cafés in Lowell and Haverhill. Through its programs, housing support, and community services, Riverbend works to make recovery resources more accessible and help individuals build wellness and independence.
