Riverfront Readings

Riverfront Readings is a literary organization presenting poetry and literary fiction readings in the Kansas City area. With more than 30 years of programming, it connects audiences with established and emerging writers through recurring public events. Its schedule features readings by poets and authors at local venues such as The Writers Place, Flagship Books, and Kansas City Kansas Community College, as well as occasional online readings. Events showcase a range of voices and give attendees opportunities to experience contemporary poetry and literary fiction in a welcoming community setting.

The organization also shares information about other local literary events and Riverfront specials, and invites readers to subscribe to its email updates or follow its calendar. Its work includes the Phil Miller Scholarship Fund, which supports an annual scholarship and related reading. Through its readings, event listings, and scholarship activities, Riverfront Readings helps foster literary engagement and community connections across the Kansas City region. Its website provides schedules, event announcements, and links of interest for readers, writers, and supporters.
