River Mallard

River Mallard Custom Calls is a maker and retailer of custom game calls for waterfowl hunters. First introduced to consumers in 2003, the brand’s duck, goose, and crow calls are designed and made by Doug Hess, who draws on experience with other calls to refine their sound, comfort, and performance. River Mallard describes its calls as easy to blow for extended periods, with the range to produce both loud calls and softer, realistic quacks, clucks, and moans.

The calls feature a barrel shaped to sit comfortably against the lips and form a close seal, alongside an insert designed to provide a firm grip and control. Customers can shop the River Mallard store for duck, goose, and crow calls, as well as a selection of call-making supplies for waterfowl hunters. The business also offers custom laser engraving, providing an additional service alongside its hunting products. River Mallard presents its calls as comfortable, responsive tools intended to help hunters make a variety of sounds in the field.
