River Road Horsemanship is an English riding and horsemanship education program based in Medford, Oregon, serving children and adults in the Rogue Valley. Founded by Hannah Baier, the program aims to develop happy, healthy, safe, and kind relationships between horses and riders. Hannah holds a degree in Equine Sciences from Colorado State University and has practical experience working on farms around the world.
Lessons teach more than riding. Students learn to groom and handle horses, practice groundwork, understand horse care and behavior, and build safe, considerate habits. Instruction is tailored to each rider’s goals and ability, with horses matched to riders and lessons paced to foster lasting confidence. The program welcomes beginners, returning students, and more advanced riders.
Options include private English riding lessons in 30-, 60-, and 90-minute formats, as well as a two-hour Saturday Horsemanship Class. River Road also offers a monthly Horsemanship Team program and seasonal camps and clinics, announced throughout the year. New riders begin with an introduction lesson before moving into regular lessons.
