River's Wish Animal Sanctuary

River’s Wish Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives through animal rescue, education, and advocacy. It provides care and permanent sanctuary to more than 120 animals, including those who are neglected, abused, homeless, or older. Many residents need specialized food, medication, or ongoing veterinary support, and the sanctuary invites people to help through donations and monthly animal sponsorships starting at $5.

The organization also promotes empathy and compassionate lifestyle choices through humane education, advocacy, and creative projects that express animals’ individuality and experiences. Its work encourages vegan living, and plant-based food is served at its fundraising events, meetings, and other functions in keeping with its mission and values.

People can get involved by adopting, visiting, volunteering, sponsoring a resident, or supporting the sanctuary through planned giving. River’s Wish also offers a virtual tour, an art and animals coloring book, and a shop, and it hosts the annual Hay for the Animals Auction.
