About Ulrich Eichelmann
RiverWatch is a society for the protection of rivers, aiming to preserve the last unimpaired rivers and restore those already affected by canalization or dams. As a globally engaged organization, RiverWatch opposes projects that cause harm to rivers, especially dam projects. Acting as a campaigning organization, RiverWatch actively opposes certain projects and raises public awareness regarding the importance of rivers.
They consider themselves a platform for individuals who share a concern for rivers. Rivers are essential for the planet as they serve as a lifeline, providing habitat for numerous species and supporting biodiversity. However, due to over-utilization, rivers have become the most endangered habitats globally.
RiverWatch draws attention to this issue and advocates for stronger protection and conservation efforts for rivers on a global scale. They are registered in the EU Transparency Register and have the support of the Manfred-Hermsen-Stiftung and Global 2000
