Scientia is the academic journal of the Società Italiana di Storia della Scienza, dedicated to the history of science, technology, and technical practices. It welcomes a broad range of historical approaches and examines how scientific knowledge is created, negotiated, communicated, and shared across society. Published twice a year, the journal is available in print and through an open-access platform, with contributions in both Italian and English.

Alongside original research articles, Scientia features work on teaching the history of science and on studying and preserving Italy’s historical and scientific heritage. Its coverage also includes biographies of Italian scientists and technicians, as well as notices about books, exhibitions, and thematic projects. Readers can explore current and past issues, discover frequently consulted articles, and find information about submitting a contribution. The platform also provides subscription details and account access for subscriber content. Scientia’s editorial and publication framework includes a journal code of ethics and information on licensing and open access.
