ROAR Society

The ROAR Society is a volunteer-based, non-profit animal rescue organization serving Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County, Alberta. Dedicated to providing humane support and solutions for animals in need, it offers shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, and opportunities for new beginnings. The Society follows a no-kill approach and works to reduce euthanasia among homeless animals while promoting responsible pet ownership and respectful treatment of animals.

Its services include rescuing stray and unwanted animals and helping them find suitable homes. Prospective adopters can view available dogs and cats and arrange an appointment to meet them after submitting a pre-adoption form. The Society uses these forms to help match animals with appropriate homes; adoptions are not handled on a first-come, first-served basis. ROAR also encourages fostering and welcomes volunteers for animal care, office tasks, building projects, fundraising, and other support. Donations and sponsorship help fund its work, and community members can contribute supplies or funds. Through rescue, education, and community involvement, the ROAR Society strives to provide positive outcomes for animals.
